Sales Policy and Process
Sales Policy
This information is provided to help buyers understand our sales process and policies.
References within our Sales Policy and Process to “Abiding Acres,” “us,” “our,” “we,” or “the farm,” refer to Abiding Acres Dairy Goats; references to “you,” “your,” or “buyer” refer to the goat buyer.
Our Policies and Process are subject to change without notice.
Purpose
This policy is intended to protect you, our goats and Abiding Acres Dairy Goats. If you have any questions regarding these, feel free to contact us directly.
All Sales are Final
All goat sales are final and we cannot accept returned goats. We cannot control the environment, exposures or conditions of goats after they leave the farm, so for the safety of our remaining herd, we are unable to receive a returned goat.
No Guarantees
We make every effort to ensure any goat leaving our farm is healthy, thriving, and is a good representation of Abiding Acres Dairy Goats. However, we make no guarantees regarding our goats, including, but not exclusively:
- Milk production
- Presence of desired genetic traits
- Show quality
- Future health and lifespan
Further, if a doe is sold as a bred, it shall be understood and agreed to by both buyer and seller that the doe was exposed to a buck but that this does not guarantee that the breeding was successful or that goat will carry her offspring to term.
Buyer-Canceled Orders
We are unable to provide refunds on buyer-canceled orders. If a buyer cancels an order, the buyer forfeits all funds paid to Abiding Acres Dairy Goats. A goat is not bought until it has been paid for in full.
Seller-Canceled Orders
Abiding Acres Dairy Goats reserves the right to cancel any order, with or without cause, by refunding to the potential buyer the full amount paid in deposit to Abiding Acres Dairy Goats.
In the rare circumstance that a reserved goat passes away or is found to have a disqualifying fault while residing at Abiding Acres, we will work with the buyer to do one of the following:
- Transfer the deposit to reserve another goat from this year
- Transfer the deposit to reserve a goat from a future year
- Refund the deposit
Sales Process
Purpose
We have provided this information to simplify our sales process and to protect the interests of our buyers, our goats, and our farm. We will work to accommodate reasonable requests and we understand that extenuating circumstances may occur. We reserve the right to make exceptions to this process in favor of the buyer, when appropriate and feasible. If you have questions, feel free to contact us. Click below for more information about each stage in our sales process:Join the wait list
To join the wait list, contact us using the online Wait List. We will record all wait list requests we receive in the order in which we receive them. We will match requests with kids that meet each specific request. We cannot accept deposits for unborn kids, and we will only accept deposits for born kids when they are at least 24 hours old and thriving. We do give preference to farms participating in performance programs, such as milk testing, linear appraisals, and goat shows. When a kid is born that is a match for a request, we will inform the first person on the list whose request is a match. This person has 48 hours from the time the message is sent to decide to purchase or to decline this goat. If the potential buyer chooses to buy the goat, the next step will be to make a reservation and send a deposit. If they decline the goat or do not respond within 48 hours, we will contact the next person on the list whose request is a good match for the goat. Joining our wait list does not guarantee you a goat. We reserve the right to retain any or all goats and to approve or deny a sale as we consider to be appropriate. Additionally, we cannot guarantee that a kid will be born that is an exact match for all characteristics you have requested, but we will diligently attempt to make the best matches possible.Make a Reservation
